2004 ALCS

The 2004 ALCS was a turning point in the rivalry between the Red Sox and Yankees and led to the Red Sox first win since 1918. It also was the first time the Red Sox beat the Yankees in the post-season. Some have said it has led to a reversal of fortunes, as the Red Sox went on to win the World Series again in 2007 while the Yankees have not been able to make it back to the World Series, even missing the playoffs in 2008. As far a historic post-season series go, you would be hard pressed to find a greater series than the 2004 ALCS. It not only saw the only comeback in a post-season series after a team was had fallen 0-3. It saw Game Four set a record for longest post-season game, only for that record to be broken the next day.
